Tamara Korpatsch vs Jodie Anna Burrage Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Australian Open

Tamara Korpatsch bids to win her first ever match in the Australian Open. To do so she needs to get past Britain's Jodie Anna Burrage who is also chasing a first win in the main draw of this Grand Slam. The winner will take on either ninth seed Barbora Krejcikova or unseeded Mai Hontama. Korpatsch is 80th in the live rankings but hasn't had the best of starts to the new year. The German lost in the first qualifying round in Adelaide after being beaten by the returning Naomi Osaka in the first round of the Brisbane International. Korpatsch has never made it past the second round of a Grand Slam event, getting to that stage at both WImbledon and the US Open last year. 2023's Australian Open saw her beaten by Emma Raducanu in the first round. The year did end well for her though with a title won in the Transylvania Open last October and that included a win over Burrage. Before that, Korpatsch reached the last four in Prague. 

Jodie Anna Burrage is 2-0 down in previous meetings against her opponent. Both losses were on hard courts which is the surface being used for this Grand Slam. The Brit is down at 102nd in the live rankings and has had mixed results this year. Burrage lost in the qualifying rounds in Hobart and the last 16 in Canberra. This is her first time in the main draw of the Australian Open and her best in a Grand Slam is, just like her opponent, the second round of last year's Wimbledon and US Open tournamens. One WTA title was won last year but that was on grass. This could be close but we tip Korptatsch to get the win.
