Tallon Griekspoor hopes to continue with his solid stretch in 2025 when he takes on qualifier Yosuke Watanuki at the BNP Paribas Open. The two will clash in the fourth round, with the winner meeting Holger Rune or Stefanos Tsitsipas. Below is our prediction for this match.

Griekspoor is enjoying his time at Indian Wells and has already been responsible for a big upset. He eliminated top seed Alexander Zverev in the second round.

Ahead of this round, he posted a straight-set win over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. This improved his record for the season to 10-5 and he will be a favorite here.

For a qualifier, Watanuki has come some distance after recovering from injury that kept him out for seven months. This is already his fifth match at Indian Wells and he too, has claimed some big scalps, albeit with a slice of luck.

In the second round Tomas Machac retired injured after having won the first set. In the third round, however, Watanuki delivered a big blow to Frances Tiafoe winning in two sets under two hours.

That improved his record for the season to 9-4. The world number 349 is the lowest ranked player to grace this stage at Indian Wells since 2004.
