Indian Wells 12th seed Holger Rune will be up against Tallon Griekspoor in the quarter-finals this Thursday. These two get to meet for the third time and the winner will face Arthur Fils or Daniil Medvedev. Read on for our prediction of the match.

Griekspoor has gracefully taken on the giant-killer tag at the Indian Wells. He has already eliminated players ranked higher than him – Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Alexander Zverev.

The unseeded Dutchman has done well and the reward is his first appearance at a Masters 1000 quarter-final. He leads this tie 2-0 but both matches were on clay, where he does really well.

Rune has had an on and off season, with the fourth round at the Australian Open being his highlight before Indian Wells. Like his opponent, has also claimed some big scalps.

He arrived at Indian Wells on a 6-6 record but has so far improved to 9-6. He beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets in the last game, ending the Greek’s fine run going into that match.

The Dane arrives for this one having played close to three hours less than Griekspoor and that could count for much. Rune also started from the second round and has played three sets less than his opponent.

Appearing here for the fifth season, this will be his 15th Indian Wells game.
