The Men's 200m Butterfly final at the 2024 Paris Olympics is set to take place on Wednesday night and it promises to be an absolute thriller between a hometown hero and the fastest swimmer in history over the distance. Let's take a look at the prediction. 

An incredible first semi-final saw the French sensation Leon Marchand put on a clinic in front of his home fans. He was the only man inside 1:54 in prelims and notched up the third-fastest time of his career in the seedling as he blew away the competition in this group in front of an exuberant crowd at Defense Arena. 

However, the performance of the evening belonged to the world-record holder, Hungarian Kristof Milak, who is now just one swim away from becoming a two-time champion after posting an unbelievable 1:52.72 in the seed to claim the tag as the favorite heading into the final. 

Kregor Zirk was widely expected to provide the greatest challenge to the two big names in this event but the Estonian clocked a time of 1:54.22, the fifth-fastest in the semis, behind Noe Ponti in fourth and the shock of the penultimate round Ilya Kharun.
