Su-Wei Hsieh vs Naomi Osaka Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Australian Open

Naomi Osaka continues her bid to win a second Australian Open title. She takes on the unseeded Hsieh Su-wei in the quarter finals with the winner facing either Serena Williams or Simone Halep in the last four. Osaka won the US Open for the second time last year. The last time she won that title, Osaka won the Australian Open a few months later. Before this tournament, Osaka played in the Gippsland Trophy, making it to the last four before withdrawing from the tournament. This Australian Open has seen her have a tricky draw but she easily beat Carolina Garcia and 27th seeded Ons Jabeur. It wasn't so easy when taking on Garbine Muguruza, not that anyone expected it would. Osaka won in three sets but faced two match points in the final set.

Hsieh Su-wei is 35 years old and the number one ranked doubles player in the world. Her singles ranking is 71 and this is the first time she's reached the quarter final of a Grand Slam singles event. It's a big surprise how well she has played in this tournament. She began her year well with a victory over world number 19 Marketa Vondrousova in Abu Dhabi. Arriving in Australia though, she only won two games when losing to Alison Van Uytvanck in the Yarra Valley warm-up tournament.  Last year saw her fail to get past the last 32 of any singles event and here she is in the quarter finals of the Australian Open. Wins have come against eighth seeded Bianca Andreescu and another win over Vondrousova. Her toughest match was against Sam Errani, having to go to three sets to win that third round tie. Now she takes on Osaka and has only won one of her five meetings against her, including a loss here two years ago. Three of the last four matches between this pair has gone to three sets. A bet on over 18.5 games in this match looks a good one.
