Steve Johnson vs Adrian Mannarino Prediction & Betting Tips - Dallas Open
by Kennedy Kechula in Tennis Predictions
Eighth seed Adrian Mannarino will face world number 120 Steve Johnson in the first round of the Dallas Open on an indoor hard court on Tuesday. The two players have faced each other four times before with Johnson ending victorious on three occasions. Johnson is a former world number 21 and has won four ATP titles. He slipped out of the top 100 in 2022 for the first time in seven years. The American comes to this tournament after reaching the quarter-finals at the Cleveland Open. In his first tournament of the year, he won his first two matches by straight sets. Johnson however lost his third game to compatriot Aleksandar Kovacevic after winning the first set. He was eliminated in the first round in last year’s Dallas Open by Mannarino. His positive start to the year has seen him rise five places to 115th in the live ranking and can move a further three places with a win on Tuesday.
Adrian Mannarino’s only win over Steve Johnson came in the first round of the inaugural Dallas championship in 2022. The Frenchman, then seeded fifth, came back from a set down to win 2-1. He would later advance to the quarter-finals where he lost in straight sets to eventual champion Reilly Opelka. The 34-year-old has played in 11 ATP Singles finals and has two titles to his name with the latest being the Winston-Salem Open in 2022. He has been on a topsy-turvy run to start the year which has resulted in him dropping five places in the live ranking to 68th. Mannarino reached the second round at the Australian Open and played to four sets in both of his matches in Melbourne. He arrives in Dallas on a positive note though after defeating world number 69 Marton Fucsovics 2-0 in the Davis Cup.

Our Steve Johnson vs Adrian Mannarino Prediction
Adrian Mannarino has been the busier of the two having played in four tournaments before arriving in Dallas but has lost more than he has won. His form is wanting but he can take strength in the fact that his only win over Steve Johnson was on this very surface a year ago. Johnson is 2-1 to start the year and has the upper hand in the head-to-head matchup with Mannarino and he will definitely have last year’s loss fresh in his mind. We predict a Johnson win in straight sets.
