Matteo Berrettini will take on Stefanos Tsitsipas in the fourth quarter-final match at the Dubai Open. The two players will be facing off for the sixth time, with the winner advancing to face Tallon Griekspoor or Daniil Medvedev. Read on for our prediction.

For the first time in a main tour event, Matteo Berrettini has reached back-to-back quarter-finals. He made it to the last eight in Doha last week and has repeated the feat in Dubai.

While in Doha, one of his wins was against Novak Djokovic. Perhaps this is the sign he needs to improve his tough run on hardcourts. He hasn’t dropped a set in Dubai, having beaten qualifier Christopher O’Connell in the previous round.

Stefanos Tsitsipas arrived in Dubai on a low, after an embarrassing defeat in Doha. Tsitsipas lost in the first round in Doha, to an injured Hamad Medjedovic.

He knew only a positive start in Dubai would ease the disappointment and he handled it well. A straight-sets win in the first round against Lorenzo Sonego served the purpose.

However, Tsitsipas had to dig deep in the second round, before seeing off Karen Khachanov in three sets. A former world number three Tsitsipas’ inconsistent season has cost him in the rankings.

Having reached three quarter-finals here in the last three appearances, this could be the break he needs.
