Seventh seed Stefanos Tsitsipas will seek another victory against 16th seed Karen Khachanov on Friday in Paris. The winner of this quarterfinal will then play either Hubert Hurkacz or Grigor Dimitrov next. Stefanos Tsitsipas has won six of the seven times that he and Khachanov have been paired up against each other. One of those victories came on an indoor hard court. The Greek number one, who is yet to lose a set in the tournament, defeated 10th seed Alexander Zverev in the last round. Tsitsipas has now won 50 matches for the third season in a row and the sixth time in his career. The world number six has already secured a place in the year-end ATP Finals in Turin. Tsitsipas made the semifinals here last season.

Karen Khachanov is a former Paris Masters champion. The Russian won the title here back in 2018 and will hope to leave as the last man standing again. Khachanov has moved up one place in the live ranking thanks to making this round. He defeated compatriot Roman Safiullin in three sets in the third round. The win was his 33rd of the season and fifth in six outings on indoor hard courts. Khachanov defeated Tsitsipas the last time they met, which was back in March in Miami. He won in straight sets on his way to the semifinals.
