The final two players head onto court for the ATP Tour Finals. Stefanos Tsitispas is seeded fourth for this tournament and his opponent, Andrey Rublev fifth. The other two players in this group are top seed Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud. Tsitsipas has won two titles this year and both were on clay. His biggest win was the Monte Carlo Masters, the other a tournament held in Lyon. He reached the French Open final but his form in the second half of the year on grass and hard courts has not been so spectacular aside from two semi-finals in Masters events. His last four tournaments have seen him fail to get past the last 16.

Andrey Rublev's year has been rather similar to that of his opponent. He was so consistent in the first six months and won a hard court tournament in Rotterdam. Rublev also reached two finals in the first half of the year, including losing to Tsitisipas in Monte Carlo. His best performance in the second half of 2021 has been reaching the final of the Cincinnati Masters. However, his last four tournaments have seen him reach just one quarter final.
