Stan Wawrinka vs Tommy Paul Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Stockholm Open

Fourth seed Tommy Paul meets wild card Stan Wawrinka in the last four of the hard court Stockholm Open. Whoever wins this match will face either third seed Grigor Dimitrov or seventh-seeded Tallon Griekspoor in the final. Here's our match prediction.

Tommy Paul has won two ATP Tour titles this year. One of them was on hard courts with success in Dallas. One other final on this surface has been reached, that was in Delray Beach the week after his Dallas success.

Paul was at 13th in the latest rankings and is 12th in the live list. In the ATP Live Race, the American is 11th but still has a lot of work to do if he wants to qualify for the end-of-season Tour Finals.

To reach this semi-final, he's had wins over qualifier Laslo Djere and unseeded Miomir Kecmanovic. Both of those matches have had a tie-break played in them with the other set won 6-2. He's 1-1 in previous matches against Wawrinka but his win came on grass.

Stan Wawrinka last made it to an ATP Tour final in 2023. That was on clay and he hasn't reached a hard court final since the 2019 European Open. The Swiss player was down at 217th in the latest rankings but up to 167th in the live list.

The 39-year-old hadn't won an ATP Tour hard court match this year until the recent Shanghai Masters. He has been rolling back the years this week with wins over sixth seed Brandon Nakashima, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (in three sets) and then top seeded Andrey Rublev. He beat Rublev in straight sets, both of them being decided by a tie-break. A side bet on one in this match could well produce a return.
