St. Louis Blues vs Columbus Blue Jackets Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

The 26-20-2 St Louis Blues welcome the 15-24-10 Columbus Blue Jackets to Enterprise Center in the early hours of Wednesday morning. On paper, the two teams are easy to compare as each of them has played at the Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Kraken in the last week or so. The Blues swept those games while the Jackets beat the Flames before losing to both the Canucks and the Kraken. St Louis has really found its groove of late, still only ranked 25th in goals scored but have notched 32 in their last nine games following a run of just 10 in six. The All-Star Break is coming at a bad time for them after five straight victories but a 6th in a row will at least give them plenty of confidence for the road ahead. When the teams met seven weeks ago in Ohio, the Blue Jackets were the 5-2 winners. That was game two of a four-game losing skid that cost Craig Berube his job with the Blues going 13-6-1 since.
Although they have lost their last two games, the Blue Jackets have not been playing badly on this road trip. They forced the Canucks into overtime after beating the Flames and a slow start in the second half of a back-to-back saw them fall to the Kraken. They have been rooted to the bottom of the Metropolitan Division pretty much since the start of the season, 11 points adrift from the Washington Capitals who are the team in front of them. They are only 6-11-6 on the road this season, only three teams have picked up fewer points away from home than they have. Despite their record, goalie Elvis Merzllikins has a save percentage north of .900 which is pretty remarkable given there are goalies for much better teams who have weaker figures than his.
