Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan Prediction & Betting Tips - One Day International
by Yunchu Li in Cricket Predictions
Sri Lanka plays host to Afghanistan at the Pallekele Stadium for this third and final One Day international with the visitors leading the series 1-0. The home team was left frustrated in the last match as they fought back superbly to restrict the opposition to just 228 and were well on their way to level the series until the heavens opened and the match was rained out. The no result in the match was excellent news for Afghanistan as it confirmed their qualification for the 2023 World Cup. Sri Lanka’s hopes of qualifying hang by a threat as they will be competing with Ireland, South Africa and the West Indies for the final qualifying position. The home team will be desperate for a win that will allow them to share the series but more importantly, they will gain much needed points in their quest for World Cup qualification.
Afghanistan surprised Sri Lanka in the first match when they comfortably won by 60 runs, thanks in the main to their opening batsmen, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran who scored 53 and 106 runs respectively. The visitors will be delighted that they cannot lose the series but will be slightly disappointed in the way their middle order has crumbled in both matches. The bulk of their runs have been scored by the top three but they will be hoping for more of a contribution from the batsmen in the middle and lower order. In the rained out second match they lost their last seven wickets for 69 runs to be bowled out.

Our Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan Prediction
The home team has it all to play for as they need the points for the World Cup qualification and of course they want to tie the series. Afghanistan on the other hand can play without pressure as they secured their qualification but will want the win to claim the series victory. They will once again expect a great start from their openers while Sri Lanka will want early wickets. We are backing the home team to win and square the series.
