Spain take on Slovenia in Group A of the Men's Olympics handbal tournament. The Hispanos are the favorites to win this match and the other countries in the group are Croatia, Germany, Sweden and Japan. Time to analyse this fixture and make our prediction.

The Spanish side are the fourth favorites to win the title with their opponents only having two countries below them in the outright betting. Spain won the bronze medal at the last Olympics and they're used to doing that. Four of the last six tournaments have seen them finish in third place. They've also won the bronze at the last two World Championshps.

The former European champions didn't fare so well in this year's tournament. They could only finish in 13th place after only coming third in their group. Their last two games both ended in 35-29 defeats to Norway but they did beat Slovenia by a ten-goal margin in March.

Slovenia are back in the Olympics after missing out on the last tournament. Their last appearance in the finals was in 2016 when they lost in the quarter-finals to eventual gold medalists Denmark and finished sixth overall.

Last year's World Championships saw them end up in 10th place after being knocked out in the main round. They did do better at this year's European Championships than Spain with a sixth placed finish. Only two of their last seven matches have been won.

They have gone three matches without a win and the last two have ended in losses to Hungary and France. We tip Spain to win this and overcome a -4.5 goals handicap.
