Spain need to bounce back after losing to Sweden on Monday. This is a Group A of the Men's Olympic Games Handball tournament. They now take on Japan who have lost both of their matches so far.  Can they beat the Hispanos? Read on for our prediction.

The Spaniards got off to a good start with an opening 25-22 win over Slovenia. That was a good comeback after trailing by three goals at the break. It was tougher against Sweden on Monday but they went into the break level.

Sweden powered ahead in the second half to win by a three-goal margin. Spainare now third in the group and have three games left to play and need to finish in the top four to go into the last eight. Their final two matches are against Germany and Croatia.

Japan are in danger of missing out on the knockout stages. They have never finished higher than ninth in the Olympic Games and that was 48 years ago. In the last Games (held in Tokyo), they ended in 11th but will do well to match that in 2024.

They started this group with a match against Croatia and it was a heartbreaking one for them. They led the match by five goals at half time but ended up losing 30-29. It wasn't so close on Monday as they had a nightmare first half against Germany and conceded 21 goals.

Japan ended up losing to the Germans by 11 goals and are the only side in this group not to have any points. Another defeat looks likely here. We predict a Spain win on a -9.5 goals handicap.
