The third and fourth place play-off is a game few players want to appear in. Both Spain and France had been dreaming of making it to the final but instead play in this game. Spain hoped to win this title for the first time since 2013. The following years since that triumph have seen them win two European titles but never finish higher than seventh in the world championships. They made a slow start to these championships. Although winning their preliminary round group, they could only draw with Brazil and beat Poland with just a one-goal margin, before a good win over Tunisia. Three comfortable wins came in the main round and then a victory over Norway in the last eight. The semi-finals saw them take on defending champions Denmark and they narrowly lost 35-33. 

France have a great record in this championship having won four of the last six events. They'll have to make do with at best a third place final this time around, just as they did in 2019. After a poor 2020 European Championships, they got off to a great start in Egypt. Their three preliminary round matches were all won, though it was a tough task to get past Switzerland by a single goal margin. Three more wins followed in the main round group, before a victory over Hungary in the last eight. Their run to another final ended when they lost out 32-26 to Sweden in a disappointing performance. They will hope to end these championships with a much better win as they prepare for the Olympic qualifiers. Back Spain to get the win here.
