Spain vs Denmark Prediction & Betting Tips - Handball World Championship

Denmark are just two games away from becoming the first country to win three successive Men's World Handball Championships. Wednesday saw them get a convincing 40-23 win over Hungary to reach this semi-final. The winners of this match will battle it out with either co-hosts Sweden (the last side to record a win over the Danes) or France. Denmark have now gone 26 world championship matches since their last defeat back in 2017. It's gone well for the Danish team in this latest title defence. They comfortably won their preliminary round group with a +43 goal difference and all three victories earned with double figure winning margins. The main round was a bit more difficult with Croatia actually managing to hold them to a 32-32 draw. Since then, they've beaten Bahrain and Egypt to confirm top spot in that group and then the big win over Hungary. They'll be hoping for more goals from Mattias Gidsel who has 42 goals so far and looks destined to finish top scorer.

Spain knocked Norway out in the quarter finals. The Spaniards won the bronze medal in the 2021 World Championships  and also the Summer Olympics. They went one better when winning the silver medal in last year's European Championships. Spain got their world title campaign off to a strong start with three wins in their preliminary round. Into the main round they went but could only finish second behind the French team they could meet in the final. Main round wins came against co-hosts Poland and then Slovenia, but defeat followed in their final group match against France. Their quarter final against Norway was expected to be a tight affair and that's just how it turned out. Norway led at half time but the game finished level at the end of the second half. Spain edged it in extra time to win 35-34. This should be another close game but it's one Denmark can win on a -2 goals handicap.
