South Africa vs England Prediction & Betting Tips - Women's T20I World Cup
by Devesh Jaganath | in Cricket Predictions
England will look to continue their dominant form in the Women’s T20I World Cup when they return to Newlands this Friday, but this time, they will be facing the hosts, South Africa, with the prize of a place in the final on Sunday up for grabs for the winners. England had already booked their place in the semi-final before their last match against Pakistan, but that didn’t stop them, as they went on to win convincingly in that match, guaranteeing them the top spot in Group 2, which saw them sidestep Australia in this round. Nat Sciver-Brunt once again headlined the occasion, earning her third player of the match award in this tournament with a dazzling display of power hitting, scoring 81 runs in 40 balls as England posted a new Women’s T20 World Cup record of 213/5 in their 20 overs. England then rampaged through the Pakistani top-order containing them to 54/7 before cleaning up the tail for 99 all out. England holds a clear advantage over South Africa in this format of the game, and they will be confident of extending that with a win in this crucial match.
South Africa suffered a poor start to the tournament, losing to Sri Lanka in their tournament opener, followed by another defeat to Australia a few days later. The host nation then managed to bounce back, beating New Zealand and Bangladesh to narrowly clinch second place in Group 1 behind the tournament favorites, Australia, who will face Group 2 runners-up, India, on Thursday. Group 1 was extremely tight, with South Africa, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka all registering two wins each, but the South Africans managed a superior net run rate which saw them go through. South Africa took Bangladesh apart in their last match, restricting them to just 113/6 in their inning before Laura Wolvaardt and Tamzin Brits wrapped up the match for the host nation scoring an unbeaten 66 and 50 runs, respectively. Despite the margin of victory, South Africa was not as dominant as the scoreline suggests and got their fair share of luck with the bat, while their fielding standards did little to impress. They will have the Newlands crowd behind them, but it’s going to take an incredible effort for them to overcome this opponent in the form they’re in.

Our South Africa vs England Prediction
The hosts will have the crowd at their backs and come into this match with bags of confidence after their solid win over Bangladesh in their last match. However, England poses a different type of challenge, having just set a new world record in this format of the game. The visitors are playing like a well-oiled machine with bat and ball, and they may be too hot to handle for the Proteas. The stage seems set for an England/ Australia final barring something special from the challengers. Therefore, our South Africa v England prediction is a win for the visitors.
