South Africa vs England Prediction & Betting Tips - World
by Devesh Jaganath | in Cricket Predictions
The Proteas will be in great spirits as they head to the Diamond Oval in Kimberley for the third and final ODI against England on Wednesday. South Africa wrapped up the series 2-0 in the last match after England posted a very defendable total of 342 in their 50 overs. However, SA Captian Temba Bavuma had other plans, spearheading his sides chase with 109 runs in 102 balls. David Miller also looked back to his destructive best, contributing a quick-fire 58 from 37 balls late in the innings. Despite all the bowlers chipping in with wickets in the last match, Anrich Nortje has arguably been the pick of them across the two matches and will be hoping to cement his place in the side with the World Cup fast approaching, while Quinton de Cock may miss the match through injury. Despite the series already being wrapped up, the hosts will not be taking it easy by any means. South Africa needs a win to move above the West Indies in the World Cup Super League standings, where they have tumbled to ninth place in recent months.
England has now suffered back-to-back ODI series defeats after folding to Australia 3-0 following their T20I World Cup success. With several big-name players absent from the squad, it is arguable that England is missing that spark that a player like Joe Root or Jonny Bairstow brings to the team. Skipper Jos Buttler has also come under scrutiny since being appointed to the job due to his underwhelming record of two wins and eight losses. However, his personal contribution with the bat this series is unquestionable, showing his class once again in the last match with an excellent 94 off 82 balls. Olly Stone has been the most economical bowler for England in this series, and they will require him to be at his best on a Kimberley pitch that does favor the seamers.

Our South Africa vs England Prediction
England certainly has enough class in their side to fashion a victory in this one and will want to avoid a second consecutive series whitewash at all costs. While they haven't played poorly, the home side has used the conditions to their advantage and has the added motivation of automatic qualification for the World Cup to spur them on. England is the favorite on most bookmaker odds, but we fancy the home side to complete the series sweep. Our South Africa v England prediction is a win for the hosts.
