Sorana Cirstea vs Belinda Bencic Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA US Open

A place in the US Open quarter finals is at stake as 15th seed Belinda Bencic takes on 30th seeded Sorana Cirstea. The winner will face either tenth seed Karolina Muchova or unseeded Wang Xinyu. Bencic is bidding to reach the last eight of this hard court Grand Slam for the fourth time. Only in 2019 did the Swiss player get past that stage, losing in the last four. Bencic began this US Open ranked 13th but a win over Cirstea will take her up to 11th. The 26-year-old has won two titles this year and both were on hard courts. Recent form has seen her get to the last eight in both Washington and Montreal. This week has gone well for her too and Bencic is in the fourth round of a Grand Slam this year. Only in the third round against Zhu Lin has she dropped a set.

Sorana Cirstea won her first two matches against Bencic (both on hard courts) but lost to her in the US Open last year after winning the opening set. Cirstea was ranked 30th at the start of this tournament and has risen three places in the live rankings. The Romanian has been playing in this Grand Slam since 2007 but this is her first time past round three. A win here will take Cirstea into only her second Grand Slam quarter final, the other being on clay at Roland Garros 14 years ago. Cirstea caused a big shock in the last round when knocking out fourth seeded Elena Rybakina. We go for over 22.5 games to be played in this match.
