Soonwoo Kwon vs Alex De Minaur Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Eastbourne International
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
it's been a rather strange week in Eastbourne, especially if you are a lucky loser. Soonwoo Kwon failed to reach the main draw but was restored into the tournament and now takes on second seeded Alex de Minaur in the semi-final. The South Korean is ranked 77th in the world but his performances so far this week have already seen him due to go up six places in live rankings. Not what was expected when losing to Alastair Gray who was ranked 1041st at the time. Players pulled out of this event so he was given a reprieve and went straight into the second round, lucky indeed. He has had wins over Marton Fucsovics (three sets) and then Ilya Ivashka (straight sets) to get into this semi-final.
It's about to get a lot tougher for him now as he takes on second seeded Alex de Minaur who is the world number 18 and can go up a couple of places if winning this semi-final. 16th would be his best ever ranking. He's in great form on this surface, having made it to the semi-final of the cinch Championship in Lonon last week. Prior to that he'd got to the last eight in Stuttgart. The 2016 Wimbledon boy's singles runner-up is always going to be a threat on this surface. The Australian has also won a grass court title in Nottingham. He's bidding to reach his second final of the year after winning the Antalya tournament in January. This week has seen him beat Liam Broady and Vasek Pospisil, both in straight sets. Back him to win without losing a set.
