Former semi-finalist Roberto Bautista Agut is up against fellow unseeded player Lorenzo Sonego in round two at Wimbledon. Round three will see the winner of this match take on either eighth seed Casper Ruud or unseeded Fabio Fognini in the last 32.

Agut reached the last four here in 2019 and the fourth round the following year. It hasn't gone so well in recent years though and he was beaten in his first match here in 2023. Agut started this tournament ranked 112th but was ninth five years ago.

Round one saw him beat unseeded Maximilian Marterer in straight sets, losing just eight games. That victory has taken him up to 101st in the live list. On grass this year, he reached the last eight of the Mallorca Open and had a win over Ugo Humbert. 

His one previous match against Sonego was on clay this year. Agut won that match in three sets in the qualifying rounds at Monte Carlo.

Lorenzo Sonego is ranked 54th in the world, 33 places below his career-high. The Italian reached the fourth round at Wimbledon in 2021 but lost in his first match last year. On grass this year, he's not got further than the last 16 in the three tournaments he played.

Round one of this grass court Grand Slam saw him beat the 31st seed Mariano Navone in straight sets. That took him to 51st in the live list. His opponent lacks grass court experience and that certainly can't be written about Agut. We go for the Spaniard to win this match.
