Lorenzo Sonego vs Daniel Evans Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Miami

Lorenzo Sonego attempts to maintain his 100 per cent record against Daniel Evans. The pair meet in the first round of the ATP Masters outdoor hard court event in Miami. For the winner, there's a second round match against the 31st seeded Christopher Eubanks. Sonego is ranked 53rd in the world and that's ten places below his British opponent. However, the ATP Live Race that is based on ranking points earned this year tellls a key story here. Sonego is over 80 places higher than Evans who is down at 189th at the time of writing this preview. Sonego faced British opposition in his last tournament and lost to Cameron Norrie in round two at Indian Wells. He's yet to win two successive matches in a tournament this year but did beat Evans in the first round of the Australian Open. That made it 3-0 in previous meetings and he beat Evans at this stage in Miami last year. He has a good record in this tournament having reached the fourth round in two of the past three years.

Daniel Evans has been struggling for form all year. He comes into this tournament having lost his last three matches and six of the last seven. His only win has been against Roman Safiullin who then got revenge for that loss at Indian Wells. He's also failed to get past the second round of a tournament in 2024. Evans is yet to make it into the third round of this tournament but has reached the second round in each of his lst four previous appearances. We don't believe he'll do that this year and tip Sonego to get the victory.
