Lorenzo Sonego vs Alejandro Tabilo Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP National Bank Open

15th seed Alejandro Tabilo faces unseeded Lorenzo Sonego for a place in round three of the National Bank Open. The winner could face top seed Jannik Sinner in round three if he makes it through. Here's our match prediction.

Alejandro Tabilo has had a groundbreaking year but his form has slipped a little of late. He lost in round one at the Paris Olympics and struggled towards the end of the hard court tournaments played earlier this  year.

The Chilean didn't get past the last 64 in his last three hard court events but has shown better form this week. Round one saw him defeat Frances Tiafoe in straight sets, losing just six games. That ended a run of three successive defeats.

He's now 21st in the live rankings and 15th in the ATP Race. He'll hope to recapture the form that saw him win the Auckland hard court title at the start of this year. He's had one previous match against Sonego. That was on a hard court in 2022 and he lost in straight sets.

Lorenzo Sonego is the world number 57 but up three places after his first round win. The Italian defeated Tallon Griekspoor in three sets, losing the middle one. He didn't play in the Olympics and his most recent tournament saw him lose in the last eight of the Umag clay court event.

On hard courts, Sonego had lost three of his last four matches before the win over Griekspoor.  It's not been a great year for him on hard courts and he is yet to get past the last 16 of an ATP Tour event in 2024. We tip Tabilo to win this match.
