Sofia Kenin vs Coco Gauff Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Wimbledon Championships

Qualifier Sofia Kenin will hope to preserve her perfect start at Wimbledon when she battles seventh seed Cori Gauff on Monday. The winner of this first-round tie will next play the winner of the match between unseeded Wang Xinyu and qualifier Storm Hunter. Sofia Kenin has been in fine form at the All England Club and has won all her three qualifiers without dropping a set. In her last match, she defeated fellow American Taylor Townsend by the loss of six games. She will hope to be as dominant against another countrymate in Gauff. Kenin and Gauff have played each other twice and have each claimed one win. This however will be the first time they will battle on grass. Kenin is a former world number four and Grand Slam champion but struggles with form and injuries have seen her have a drop-off. She is currently ranked 128th in the live ranking and has compiled a 15-14 win-loss record this year.

Cori Gauff arrives for her fourth appearance at Wimbledon after making the semifinals in Eastbourne. Gauff has been in fine form in 2023 and has managed to win 27 of the 38 matches she has played. Four of her victories have come on grass. The American is a strong performer on the surface and since making her grass debut in 2019, has compiled a 19-7 record. She has never lost a first-round match here and having already defeated Kenin this year, she will be confident of preserving this record. Gauff made it all the way to the fourth round in her first two appearances but last season was eliminated in the third. She starts the week ranked seventh in the WTA and already has one title bagged this year.
