Sofia Kenin vs Clara Tauson Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Japan Open

Wild card Sofia Kenin takes on lucky loser Clara Tauson in round two of the WTA event in Tokyo. The winner goes into the last eight and will face either third seed Daria Kasatkina or unseeded McCartney Kessler. Here's our match prediction.

Sofia Kenin is down at 155th in the latest rankings and needed a wild card to get into the main draw of this tournament. The American has been struggling for form in recent weeks with her last three matches all ending in defeat. 

Of those three losses, two went to a final set. Her most recent tournament was in Osaka with Kenin losing to the then world number 188 Aoi Ito. Kenin got back into winning ways this week with a straight sets win over tenth seed Wang Xinyu.

Clara Tauson is the world number 55 but had to go through the qualifying rounds. Only one game was lost in her first match but then Tauson lost to Saya Ishii in three sets after only losing one game in the first.

The 21-year-old was then reinstated as a lucky loser and beat Nao Hibino in the first round for the loss of five games. Tauson beat Kenin earlier this year but that was on clay at Roland Garros. We tip Tauson to get the win.
