Sofia Kenin vs Barbora Krejcikova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA San Diego Open

Fourth seed Barbora Krejcikova takes on wild card Sofia Kenin in the final of the San Diego Open. Krejcikova is bidding to win her second WTA Tour singles title of the year. The other was  memorable occasion in Dubai when beating the top three ranked players in the world. The opposition hasn't been quite so stellar this week in San Diego. It's an important week for the Czech who hasn't been in good form of late. The 27-year-old came into this tournament having not won a single set in her last four matches. It's gone much better for the world number 13 in San Diego and reaching this final has taken her up to tenth in the live rankings. In the Live WTA Race, Krejcikova is up to 13th but a place in the WTA Tour Finals is looking unlikely. To reach this final, the Czech has beaten Anhelina Kalinia, seventh seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia and in the semi-finals, Danielle Collins. No sets had been dropped before Collins took the first set against her. Krejcikova recovered to win the next two, losing seven games.

It's been a big week for wild card  Sofia Kenin. The former Australian Open finalist was ranked 93rd at the start of this week but is now up to 53rd. Earlier this year the American (a former world number four) was outside the top 200. This is her best performance on a hard court this year, beating the semi-final run in Hobart. Kenin beat sixth seed Veronika Kudermetova in the first round of this San Diego Open. That was followed by a more difficult match against wild card Katie Volynets. Kenin only won one game in the first set but won the next two 6-4 6-2. The last eight saw her beat Anastasia Potpava in straight sets taking her into a semi-final against qualifIer Emma Navarro. The middle set was lost in her three-set win. We go for Krejcikova to win this final.
