Top seed and world number one Jannik Sinner faces 14th-seeded Tommy Paul in round four of the US Open. The winner will take on either fifth seed Daniil Medvedev or unseeded Nuno Borges next. Read our match prediction.

Sinner tops both the overall and ATP Race ranking lists. He has won five titles this year, including the hard court Australian Open. The most recent title victory came in his last hard court tournament played in Cincinnati.

This is his 12th ATP tournament of the year and he has reached at least the quarter-final in all of the previous 11. So far in this tournament, Sinner has beaten Mackenzie McDonald, Alex Michelsen and Christopher O'Connell, losing just one set.

He's in round four of this Grand Slam for the fourth successive year but he will be wanting to get past the last eight for the very first time. He leads Paul 2-1 in previous meetings and won their only previous outdoor hard court match.

Tommy Paul is in round four of his home Grand Slam for the second year in a row. The American is up to 12th in the live rankings which equals his career high. He's up to tenth in the Live ATP Race.

Paul had lost three of his last four singles matches before the start of this Grand Slam. He has won two ATP Tour titles this year, one of them on the hard courts of Dallas and the other on grass in Eastbourne.

This tournament has produced victories over Lorenzo Sonego, Max Purcell (who retired in the third set) and in round three, qualifier Gabriel Diallo. He had to come from behind to win that match after dropping the first set.
