Top seed Jannik Sinner is one match away from another ATP Tour final. The world number one takes on surprise semi-finalist 30th seed Tomas Machac in the Shanghai Masters hard court tournament. Here's our match prediction.

Tomas Machac has already reached one ATP Tour singles final this year. That was in Geneva but that match was played on clay. He's up to a career-high 25th as a result of this  run to the last four in Shanghai. A win over Sinner will take him up two more places.

The 23-year-old celebrates his birthday on Sunday and that's when the final is being played. He's been in top form in this tournament and has beaten seeded players in both of his last two matches.

He came from a set down to beat 11th seeded Tommy Paul and then caused another shock in the quarter-finals. Machac beat the third seed Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets to set up this match against Sinner.

There's been one previous match between these two players. That was in this year's Miami Masters hard court tournament. SInner won that match in straight sets and only dropped six games.

The Italian is also in excellent form and that was shown in Thursday's quarter-final. He beat the fifth seed Daniil Medvedev and only dropped five games against the Russian. He's won six titles this year and was runner-up in the recent China Open.

Sinner has only lost one set on his way to this semi-final. That was against Tomas Martin Etcheverry in round three. We go for over 19.5 games to be played in this match.
