One thing is for certain in this intriguing tournament. The final will be contested by two players who have never reached that stage before in New York. That's because the winner of this match takes on either Frances Tiafoe or Taylor Fritz.

Of the four semi-finalists, only SInner has played in a Grand Slam final. That was in Australia earlier this year when the Italian won the title. He comes into this semi-final top of the overall rankings and the ATP Race.

He has won 53 of his 58 matches this year and won five titles. Sinner was triumphant in his last tournament, the Cincinnati Masters. He's now unbeaten in his ten matches and on Wednesday beat Daniil Medvedev in four sets.

Jack Draper is in his first ever Grand Slam semi-final. He has a strong record in this tournament with ten of his 12 matches in New York being won. His run to this semi-final has taken him to a career-high 20th.

Beating Sinner will see him rise to 14th in the live rankings. Wednesday saw him beat tenth seed Alex de Minaur in straight sets. The Australian is the only seed that Draper has had to face so far at Flushing Meadows.

He has faced Sinner once before in 2021. He won that match but it was played on grass at Queen's Club. The win was achieved in straight sets, both going to a tie-break. A bet on one here could well be profitable.
