Jannik Sinner, the top seed at the Australian Open, takes on 13th seed Holger Rune as he continues his title defence. They will battle in the fourth round with the winner advancing to play Alex Michelsen or Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals. Below is our prediction for this match.

Jannik Sinner defeated Marcos Giron in the last round for his second straight-sets victory this week. He has now won 20 straight matches dating back to his title-winning run in Shanghai last October.

Sinner, the world number one, has defeated Rune in their last two matchups. This is their first meeting at a major.

Holger Rune has also won twice against Sinner. The Dane won their first two encounters. Rune has made it to the fourth round in Melbourne for the second time in the last three seasons.

To advance to this round, Rune needed a decider in a grueling third-round battle with Miomir Kecmanovic. It was his second five-setter this week after he also needed a decider in his opening-round tie with Zhang Zhizhen.

Rune is a three-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist but has never advanced as far at a major on hardcourts. A win over Sinner will see the world number 13 return to the ATP top 10.
