Jannik Sinner is the top seed for the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam. He takes on unseeded Gael Monfils in round two with the winner going into the quarter finals. Waiting in the last eight will be either eigth seed Alexander Bublik or unseeded Milos Raonic. Sinner is playing his first tournament since he became Australian Open champion. He's fourth in the live rankings and will move above Daniil Medvedev into third if winning this ATP 500 tournament. The Italian remains top of the Live ATP Race with 750 points more than any other player. All eight of his matches played this year have ended in victory. The first round of this tournament saw him beat unseeded Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets. He leads Monfils 4-1 in previous meetings and has won all three matches since a win for the Frenchman in 2019.

Gael Monfils was 70th at the start of this tournament but was as high as sixth in 2016. The first round in Rotterdam saw him get a win over Denis Shapovalov in straight sets. Both of those sets were won via a tie-break. That win has taken him up to 67th in the live list and 92nd in the ATP Live Race. The latter list saw him rise 74 places from 166th. He hadn't made an impressive start to the new year with just one win in four matches played. We tip Sinner to win this in straight sets.
