We're set for a blockbuster of a match in the last eight of the US Open. Top seed Jannik Sinner takes on Daniil Medvedev who is seeded fifth. Who'll reach the semi-finals? Read our match prediction.

Sinner isn't just the top seed but also number one ranked in the overall rankings and ATP Race. However, he has never made it past this stage in the US Open. His only other last eight appearance here was in 2022.

The Italian has won five titles this year and one of those was the hard court Australian Open. He's in form as his last tournament saw him win the Cincinnati Masters. That good form has continued in New York.

To get to this round, he has beaten Mackenzie McDonald, Alex Michelsen, Christopher O'Connell and 14th seed Tommy Paul. The only set dropped was against McDonald. This is his 13th match against Medvedev and he trails 7-5.

Three matches played this year see Sinner 2-1 ahead. His only loss to the Russian this year was on grass at Wimbledon. Four of their last five matches have seen both players win a set.

Daniil Medvedev has an excellent record in this Grand Slam. He has reached at least the semi-final in four of his last five appearances here with a title win in 2021 and two other finals, including last year.

He is fifth in the live rankings but will go above Novak Djokovic into fourth with a win over Sinner. So far in this tournament he has had wins over Dusan Lajovic, Fabian Marozsan, Flavio Cobolli and has only lost one set.
