Jannik Sinner plays his first match since winning the Australian Open. He's the top seed in the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam and faces unseeed Dutchman Botic van de Zandsdhulp. The winner of this first round match will take on either wild card Gael Monfils or a qualifier in round two of this indoor hard court tournament. Sinner is ranked fourth in the world but tops the Live ATP Race after winning his first Grand Slam. It's been a great year for him and he's won all seven of his matches played in 2024 including beating three of the world's top five. The first round in Melbourne saw him beat his opponent in this match in straight sets. Last year saw him win five tournaments, all of them on hard courts. He also got to the final of this tournament losing to Daniil Medvedev.

Botic van de Zandschulp will have the home fans cheering him on but he needs a lot more than that. He's down at 66th in the live rankings and148th in the Live ATP Race. He's yet to make it past the last 16 of a tournament this year getting to that stage in Hong Kong and Auckland. After that first round loss to Sinner in the Australian Open, he played for the Netherlands against Switzerland in the Davis Cup winning one match but losing the other. His loss came against Leando Riedi who was ranked 175th at the time. Van de Zandschulp has a tough task here and we tip Sinner to win this in straight sets.
