World number one Jannik Sinner put in a highly impressive performance on Friday. He now takes14th seed Ben Shelton in the last 16. The winner will go into a quarter-final against either 10th seed Grigor Dimitrov or fifth-seeded Daniil Medvedev.

Sinner is bidding to reach the last eight at Wimbledon for the third successive year. He made it to the semi-finals last year and is looking good to reach at least that stage in 2024. The top seed beat Miomir Kecmanovic on Friday and lost only seven games in the three sets.

That was a far more conclusive win than in round two where his three sets won were all via a tie-break. Sinner has only lost three matches this year as he made his way to the top of the rankings. He also won his first grass court title with success in the Halle Open. 

He leads Shelton 2-1 in previous meetings. This is their first match on grass though. Each of their three previous matches saw a tie-break being played. A side bet on one in this match looks a good bet to place.

Ben Shelton has had a busy week with his three matches all taking place over a couple of days. He's had to play 15 sets to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time. He's twice had to win the last couple of sets to win a match.

Saturday saw him complete another final set victory. That was against unseeded Denis Shapovalov after losing the first set. His serve will make life difficult for Sinner but we see the top seed being able to win this in straight sets.
