Jannik Sinner has been in impeccable form in his title defence. He has lost just two sets after four rounds and only once has he been kept on the court past three hours.

The world number one defeated 13th seed Holger Rune in the last round in four sets. He has now won his last 20 matches, a run that began in Shanghai last season. Sinner is unbeaten against de Minaur.

They have dueled nine times with one of his victories coming in the fourth round of the 2022 Australian Open.

Alex de Minaur has qualified for the Melbourne quarter-finals for the first time. The Australian had lost in the fourth round here for three consecutive seasons.

He will now hope to win his first-ever last-eight duel at a major. De Minaur has contested four previous Grand Slam quarter-finals on three surfaces.

The 25-year-old, who has moved up to seventh in the live ranking, defeated Alex Michelsen in straight sets in the fourth round. It was his third 3-0 victory in the tournament.

De Minaur is unbeaten having won his first six matches to start the campaign.
