Not since 2017 has Serena Williams won a singles tournament but that looks like changing this weekend. The world number ten takes on Jessica Pegula who is ranked 72 places below her. Williams hasn't won a title since returning to the WTA circuit after giving birth to her baby girl. She has come close many times though, including in Grand Slam tournaments but this is her best chance to win a 73rd WTA singles title. The former world number one has only dropped one set so far and that was in her second round game against Christina McHale. Williams lost the first set but won the next two losing just five games. Since then it's been all straight set victories and in the semi-finals, Williams lost just two games to Amanda Anisinova.

Jessica Pegula has had a week to remember and in the live rankings is up to 64. The American has had a bit of luck with her draw not having to play a seeded player until the semi-final. Her first three games were all won in straight sets and then she came up against the soon to be retired Carolina Wozniacki. Pegula lost the first set but then won the next two, including the final set without losing a game. All good runs have to come to an end at some point and the tip here is for Williams to win the title in straight sets.
