Serbia vs Russia Prediction & Betting Tips - Davis Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Serbia take on Russia in the last eight of the Davis Cup Finals. They are battling it out to see who takes on Canada in the semi-finals. The Canadians took advantage of Nick Kyrgios being absent to get a 2-1 win over the Australians. Serbia are the favourites to win this particular quarter final and of course have Novak Djokovic in their team. He's been in top form so far this week winning both of his matches in straight sets. That helped the Serbs to a 3-0 win over Japan and then a 2-1 victory over last year's finalists France. Filip Krajinovic has also won both of his singles this week. The only match lost by the Serbs so far this week was a doubles match against Japan.
Russia qualified for this quarter final as one of the best second placed countries. They finished behind Spain in Group B winning one and losing one of their matches. Russia began with a 3-0 win over the reigning champions Croatia with both Andrey Rublev and Karen Kachanov winning their singles. Their second group match wasn't so successful as they lost 2-1 to Spain. Rublev won the first singles match against Roberto Bautista Agut but then Khachanov lost to Rafael Nadal and the deciding doubles match went to the Spanish side in straight sets. Russia made it through though when Spain went on to beat Croatia 3-0 in the final group match. Serbia look to be in the best form of the two sides. Novak Djokovic hasn't dropped a set and Filip Krajinovic is backing him up well. Go for a Serbian win here.
