Serbia vs Canada Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cup, Group B

The ATP Cup has reached the knock-out stages and Serbia take on Canada in the quarter finals with the winners taking on Russia in the last four. Canada were the runners up in last year’s Davis Cup and are again having a good week in this team tournament. They qualified for the last eight by finishing second behind Australia (already through to the semi-finals) in Group F. They beat Greece 3-0 but lost by that scoreline to hosts Australia, before clinching second with a 2-1 victory over Germany after trailing 1-0. Dennis Shapovalov is in good form, showing that when beating Alexander Zverev in straight sets losing just four games. He also beat Stefanos Tsitsipas winning two tie-breaks but lost in three sets to Alex de Minaur in the loss to Australia. Felix Auger-Aliassime has only won one singles match so far. When Aliassime and Shapovalov have teamed together, they have won both their matches.

Serbia will be tough opposition of course with their team led by world number two Novak Djokovic. They qualified as comprehensive winners of Group A winning all three of their matches. Wins came against South Africa, France and Chile. Djokovic has yet to drop a set, though he needed two tie-breaks to defeat Kevin Anderson. Dusan Lajovic has won two of his three singles matches but lost to Benoit Paire in three sets in the 2-1 win over France. Their doubles partnership of Cacic and Troicki have lost both their matches but Serbia did get a win when replacing Cacic with Djokovic in a deciding rubber against France. This is likely to be a tight match with the game going to the doubles. If that is the case, expect Djokovic to play and that should tip the tie in the favour of Serbia.
