Sebastian Korda vs Yoshihito Nishioka Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP European Open
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Unseeded Sebastian Korda is up against the eighth seeded Yoshio Nishioka in the European Open quarter finals. Korda began this week ranked 36th and has already had a successful October. Last week he lost to Andrey Rublev in the final of the tournament held in Gijon. This is his sixth ATP Tour quarter final of the year and winning it will see him in his third semi-final of 2022. Korda has risen over 20 places in the rankings since July. This week has seen him beat Marcos Giron (after losing the first set) and then fourth seeded Karen Kachanov in straight sets. The only previous meeting between the pair was on clay last year with Korda winning in straight sets
Yoshihito Nishioka was ranked 39th at the start of this European Open. The Japanese player recently won an ATP 250 tournament in Seoul last month and that included wins over Dan Evans, Casper Ruud and Denis Shapovalov. He also got to the final in Washington in August and won a Challenger Tour tournament in January. It wasn't so good in his last tournament though as he lost in three sets to Miomir Kecmanovic in Tokyo after winning the first set. Nishioka struggled in the first round of this tournament, having to come from a set down to beat qualifier Luca Van Assche. It was better in round two though with a straight sets win over Jaume Munar. Tie-breaks were played in both of those matches. . The American can be backed to win this quarter final, a bet on a tie-break being played looks a possible winner.
