Sebastian Korda vs Taylor Fritz Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP National Bank Open

Ninth seed Taylor Fritz has a tough draw in his opening match in Montreal. He takes on fellow American Sebastian Korda in the second round of this hard court Masters tournament. Here's our prediction of what should be a fascinating match.

The winner of this match will face either sixth seed Casper Ruud or lucky loser James Duckworth. Sebastian Korda is in excellent form at present and last weekend won the Washington hard court tournament. That has taken him to a career-high 18th in the world rankings.

It hasn't taken him long to beat that and after his first round win in Montreal is now 17th in the live list. Round one saw the American defeat Vasek Pospisil but it didn't exactly wear him out. He led 2-1 in the first set when his Canadian opponent retired with an injury. 

In addition to winning the Washington title, Korda has also reached one hard court semi-final and another quarter-final. He trails Fritz 2-0 in previous meetings but both of the matches were played on clay courts.

Taylor Fritz is the world number 13 but one place higher in the live rankings. The American returns to hard courts after taking part in the Paris Olympics. He lost in the last 16 of the singles but won a bronze medal in the doubles with Tommy Paul.

Fritz also had a successful grass court season, winning the Eastbourne title and reaching the last eight at Wimbledon. That was another ATP title for him after landing the hard court Delray Beach Open title in February. He also made it to the last eight of the Australian Open and we tip him to beat Korda.
