Sebastian Korda vs Flavio Cobolli Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Washington Citi Open

Tenth seed Flavio Cobolli seeks his maiden tour title when he takes on fourth seed Sebastian Korda in the Washington Open final. This will be their second career meeting. Read on for our prediction for the match.

Korda defeated Cobolli earlier this year on clay in Rome, and won in three sets. As he targets another win, Korda will hope his poor run in tour final matches doesn’t come to the fore. He has contested seven such finals before his run in Washington and lost six times.

His most recent disappointment was on grass in Rosmalen back in June. To progress to the final in DC, Korda defeated compatriot Frances Tiafoe in straight sets. Korda, who has now compiled a 25-16 record, won three of his four matches in Washington in straights. Making it to the final has seen Korda break into the ATP top 20 and is now placed 19th in the live ranking.

Flavio Cobolli will play in his maiden tour final, and the young Italian will hope his form this week prevails against Korda. In his last two matches in DC, Cobolli faced off with crowd favorites. He defeated Alex Michelsen in the quarters and then Ben Shelton in the semi-finals.

In both matches he needed a decider to win and against Shelton had to come from a set down. Cobolli has spent more than seven hours on the court in DC and could be a bit jaded for the final. The 22-year-old has now won 31 of 54 matches this year and 18 of those wins have been registered on hard courts.

Progressing to the final has propelled him 15 places up, to 33rd in the live ranking which is a new career high.
