Sebastian Korda vs Borna Ćorić Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

Defending champion Borna Coric takes on Sebastian Korda in the first round of the Western & Southern Open. Coric won this outdoor hard court Masters event in Cincinatti last year, despite being a qualifier. The winner of this match will face either Hubert Hurkacz or a qualifier in round two. Coric starts this tournament ranked 15th in the world but has had mixed results in the past few weeks. He reached the last four of the hard court Los Cabos Open but didn't beat any top 100 ranked players before being beaten by Stefanos Tsitsipas. His most recent tournament was in Toronto and he lost in the first round to lucky loser Aleksandar Vukic. If he'd won that match Coric would have faced Korda. Coric has lost eight of his 15 matches on hard courts this year with only two wins in the last seven played. 

Sebastian Korda is currently 30th in the live rankings. That's five places below the career high he achieved in June of this year. He also lost to Vukicc in Toronto after beating Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the first round. The 23-year-old American will be looking to recapture the hard court form he showed at the start of the year. He got to the final of the first Adelaide International tournament, losing to Novak Djokovic in three sets. Before that though he had beaten Andy Murray, Roberto Bautista Agut and Jannik Sinner. That was followed by a run to the last eight of the Australian Open where he beat Daniil Medvedev. He then missed three months through injury ad has struggled aside from getting to the last four of the Queen's Club grass court tournament. It's hard to pick a winner here but we opt for Korda to knock out the defending champion.
