This is an indoor hard court tournament and this final continues Korda's good form after making it to the last four in Zhuhai last month. He also reached the semi-final of the Winston Salem hard court tournament in August but there have been some early exits too, including being beaten in the first round at Wimbledon and the US Open. This run to the final has seen him move up to a career-high equalling 25th. That'll be broken if winning this match as he'll move up to 22nd in the live rankings. Korda has had a tough route to this final and has played three matches that went to a final set. The last eight saw him beat top seed Tallon Griekspoor in three sets. Another three-setter followed in his semi-final against Hamad Medjedovic, having to come from behind. All three sets went to a tie-break.

Adrian Mannarino is up from 34th to 27th in the live rankings. He can move above Korda in the rankings and climb to 23rd if winning this match. That'd be one place below his career-high of 22nd achieved five years ago. This is his third final of the year, the other two being grass court tournaments. He's only lost one set so far in Astana. That was against a qualifier in the second round. His other three wins have all come in straight sets and in the last four he beat unseeded Sebastian Offner for the loss of six games. He's made it to this final without having to face a seeded player. This could be a tight match and a tie-break is possible and we go for Korda to win.
