Unseeded Tallon Griekspoor attempts to cause an upset in round two of the US Open. The Dutchman takes on 21st seeded Sebastian Baez for a place in round three of this hard court Grand Slam. Here's our match prediction.

Griekspoor is the world number 40 but was as high as 21st last year. He's up a place in the live rankings after beating Sumit Nagal in round one of this Grand Slam. Only four games were dropped in the first two sets with the third going to a tie-break.

The 28-year-old will have welcomed that victory after losing in the first round of this tournament for the past two years. His best is a second round in 2021 but he has a good chance here of surpassing that.

Griekspoor had lost his last three matches before his first round win. He's had some tough draws though against Carlos Alcaraz, Lorenzo Sonego and Alex Michelsen. His best hard court performance this year was a semi-final in Rotterdam.

Sebastian Baez is 23rd in the live rankings. He's 1-1 in previous meetings with Griekspoor but both were played on clay. That surface is the one Baez plays his best tennis on and has won two titles this year.

On hard courts, the Argentinian had lost four of his last five matches before winning in the first round of this tournament. Baez defeated Luciano Darderi in four sets, losing the second. Two of the sets went to a tie-break.
