Third seed and defending champion Sebastian Baez needs to beat unseeded Camilo Ugo Carabelli to reach the outdoor clay court Chile Open final. Will his title reign come to an end? Here’s our match prediction.

Baez is 38th in the live rankings and is repeating the excellent clay court form he produced this time last year. He has won 11 of his 13 clay court matches and already won the Rio title. In 2024 he did that too and then won this title and is hoping to do the same again in 2025.

To reach this semi-final, he’s beaten Francesco Comesana (in three sets) and Damir Dzumhur in straight sets in Friday's quarter-final.

Unseeded Camilo Ugo Carabelli has had a tough route to this semi-final. Three sets were needed to beat the seventh seed Nicolas Jarry in round one. Another three-setter followed in round two as he came from a set down to defeat Thiago Monteiro.

He’s up to 61st n the live rankings after his straight sets win over Federico Coria in the quarter-finals. This is his second semi-final in a row after reaching this stage in Rio and it was Sebastian Baez who beat him in that tournament. He won the first set but only won a couple of games in the next two.
