Sebastian Baez is the top seed and defending champion in the Winston Salem Open. He's in real danger of losing his title as he takes on unseeded Borna Coric in the second round. Here's our match predicition for an intriguing clash.

Baez is the world number 21 and his win last year is the only hard court tournament that he's won on the ATP Tour. His form coming into this tournament is not impressive though. His most recent tournament was in Cincinnati where he lost in the last 32.

Most of his recent wins have come on clay with a semi-final in Hamburg and last eight in Kitzbuhel. On hard courts he's played eight matches this year and only won three of them. He does however lead Coric 2-0 in previous matches, both played on this surface.

Borna Coric is 87th in the world rankings and ten places higher in the ATP Race with Baez in 21st position. He had a straight sets win over Sumit Nagal in the first round, dropping just six games. That was an improvement on his first qualifying round loss in Cincinnati.

He beat Pedro Martinez in the Rogers Cup but then lost to Jannik Sinner in the last 32. He'll hope to recapture the form shown when getting to the final of the Montpellier hard court tournament and being a losing finalist in a Challenger Tour event. We tip him to win this.
