Seattle Kraken vs Winnipeg Jets Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL
by Joseph King | in NHL Predictions
Western Conference action in the NHL sees the in-form Winnipeg Jets looking to extend their winning streak when they travel to the Climate Pledge Arena to take on the struggling Seattle Kraken. The visitors are coming off two consecutive wins after their 5-1 win over Vancouver on Saturday but will have to deal with a back-to-back here if they are to push that streak to three wins. The Jets are second in the Central division with 20 wins, nine losses and one overtime loss putting them on 41 points, just one point behind the first-place Dallas Stars. Winnipeg have now won seven of their last 10 games and also hold a strong away record of nine wins from 14 trips.
On the other side, the Seattle Kraken will be desperate to stop the bleeding after a horrible recent run of results has seen them drop to third in the Pacific division. Seattle has 16 wins, 10 losses and three overtime defeats following their most recent 3-2 loss to Carolina. The loss was the fifth in the last six games for the Kraken, who would ultimately end the five game road trip with just one win and three losses before returning back to the Climate Pledge Arena for this one. Things haven’t gone that well for Seattle on home ice though, as the second-year NHL team has managed to win only seven of their 15 games.
Concerningly for the hosts during this current losing run is their defense. The Kraken have allowed four or more goals in four of their last six games and have allowed an average of four goals per game over this stretch of games, well above their season average of 3.24 goals allowed per game. They’ll have to improve their defensive solidity if they are to have a chance here, especially considering that the Jets have one of the stingiest defenses in the league with only 2.57 goals conceded per game. The Kraken will have to convert their chances but could struggle considering the Jets have only allowed two total goals over their last two outings.

Our Seattle Kraken vs Winnipeg Jets Prediction
We’re going to back the Winnipeg Jets at better than even money to get the win in this game. The Jets are playing the second of a road back-to-back which explains why the bookmakers have them as underdogs here. Despite this, Winnipeg are playing too well at the moment to pass up on against a Seattle team that is in their biggest slump of the season so far. The Kraken have really struggled to put the puck in the net and will likely have problems again as they face off against one of the league’s best defenses. There’s value in the dog here so take them to get it done on the road.
