Meanwhile, Black Lion got their Challenge Cup campaign underway with a fierce battle against Vannes which they managed to come out on top in by a scoreline of 22-19. 

While it was not a dominant victory, the team would have seen it as a crucial result given that they lost their last two matches against Clermont and Castres by big margins. 

Notably, when these sides met in this competition last year, Black Lion secured a 23-7 victory at this venue and will be looking to do likewise this week.
