San Francisco Giants vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction & Betting Tips - MLB
by Joseph King | in MLB Predictions
The NL West third-place San Francisco Giants play host to the AL Central second-place Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday in Major League Baseball. This game concludes the three game series between these two teams with each team having one win and one loss so far. The Giants are coming into this one after a 3-1 home loss in game two vs Cleveland, a result which snapped a four game winning streak. San Francisco are involved in a tight race to make the MLB postseason as they target the final Wild Card spot. They’re battling it out against three other teams, however, with the Giants currently sitting 1.5 games off of the Diamondbacks. San Fran will start with lefty Kyle Harrison on the mound who is 1-1 on the season with a 4.87 ERA. The rookie pitcher is making only his fifth start of the season but has shown flashes of some good stuff.
On the other side, the Guardians will need a late season miracle if they are to make the playoffs. Cleveland currently trails the first-place Twins by 7.5 games in the AL Central and are eight games below .500. With a 11.5 game deficit for the final Wild Card spot, Cleveland’s best shot at the postseason would involve chasing down the Twins for the division crown. Their win in game two of this series snapped a previous four game losing streak. However, it was only their third win in the last 10 as the Guardians continue to struggle. The visitors will start with Logan Allen on the bump who is sporting a 7-7 record and a 3.68 ERA. Allen, also a rookie, is having a solid season and Cleveland are 14-8 when he takes to the mound. The lefty’s last start saw him go five innings and give up just one earned run.

Our San Francisco Giants vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction
Two teams face off here who are two of the worst in the league when it comes to hitting lefties. The Guardians and the Giants both rank in the bottom four in team OPS against lefties, meaning we could have a low-scoring game on our hands here. Both pitchers are rookies but have shown solid potential this year and have each put up some impressive performances. Harrison has pitched better at Oracle Park this season while Allen is on a run of allowing more than four earned runs in only two of his last six starts. Our San Francisco Giants vs Cleveland Guardians prediction is for under 8.5 runs to be scored.
