The San Antonio Spurs (28-39) are set to host the New York Knicks (43-24) in Wednesday's NBA cross-conference clash. The Spurs are 13th in the Western Conference table, while the Knicks are third in the Eastern Conference. Here's our match prediction. 

The San Antonio Spurs enter this match after a 125-109 away defeat against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. The hosts were outplayed in the first three quarters but managed to put up a fight in the fourth quarter when they led 34-31. 

Stephon Castle led the team with 23 points, 8 rebounds and three dimes while Devin Vassell contributed 17 points. 

The Spurs have lost five of their last seven matches. With star players Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox ruled out for the remainder of the season, it won't come as a surprise if they drop their second straight match.

The New York Knicks, on the other hand, are all smiles coming into this match. The visitors beat the struggling Miami Heat 116-95 at home. This marked their third win in four outings. 

In that match, Mikal Bridges led the way with 28 points and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 23 points. As a team, they shot 49.5% from the field compared to their opponents' 47.6%.

The Knicks have lost three of their last five away matches. It's worth pointing out that they were on a two-match winning streak beforehand.
